Taka Kono’s solo exhibition, noomoon aims to investigate the ontology of absence and the role of Japanese negative aesthetics in the contemporary art world. It is a site specific intervention comprised of works that aim to create layered senses of lack by delimiting its emptiness. Within the space that has been abandoned for the same years the artist has been alive, blood-soaked garments are fed forensic chemicals through tubes, altering the color of the blood to blue.
In short, the exhibition is like breaking up - then running into your ex with their new partner the next day.
